Suno Credentials: what stays with your master?

Your finished track deserves deliberate sound and deliberate release details. Here is what happens to generator tags and C2PA when PolishMyTrack creates a new master.

PolishMyTrack automatically leaves source generator tags out of its new exports. It also rebuilds the audio file without copying the source’s embedded C2PA blocks. That is an export behavior, not a certificate about the origin of the music.

I want the release workflow to be easy to understand: keep your original, work on the sound, and deliver a new file with release details you have reviewed. A metadata check answers a different question from a mastering report. Both are useful when their meaning is clear.

The local export path
  1. Your sourceAudio and source metadata. Original kept untouched.
  2. Your mastering passMeasured tone, dynamics and level. Processed on your device.
  3. A newly encoded fileSource credential blocks are not copied. Add release details with Premium.
This describes our export pipeline. No Suno credential check has been run on your file.

What are Suno Credentials and C2PA?

Suno Credentials identifies Suno provenance through C2PA. Suno says the rollout applies to new downloads, not files already downloaded. Suno’s explanation and checker describe its scope.

Ordinary metadata includes fields such as title, artist and comment. C2PA is more than another comment: it records provenance in signed, tamper-evident structures. It can describe creation and later edits. Editing a recording does not erase its history; an editing tool can preserve that history in updated credentials. See the C2PA FAQ.

Check if a song was generated with Suno

Suno uses this heading for its checker, but the result concerns credentials, not acoustic AI detection. On Suno’s page, select a file or provide a direct media URL. Using that external service sends the audio to Suno.

A missing label cannot establish a recording’s origin. Keep the distinction in mind when checking an older download or an edited copy.

How to read a result
Suno credentials found

Positive provenance result.

No Suno credentials found

No Suno provenance found by this check. Does not prove human authorship.

Check inconclusive

No definitive result. Do not treat this as an absence finding.

Illustrative result labels, not a live check or a certification of any track.

Can I remove C2PA and metatags from a Suno song?

In PolishMyTrack, the relevant step is exporting a new master. Our encoders receive processed audio samples and a small set of release fields. They do not receive the original file’s container blocks to copy. The source’s embedded C2PA payload is therefore not carried into that export.

The existing tag handling also filters values that name recognized generators, including Suno, from the release fields it writes. This happens automatically; there is no separate cleanup purchase. It is not an in-place metadata editor: the original file remains as it was.

That does not mean the result contains zero metadata. A usable audio file still needs technical information, and Premium lets you add title, artist, album, date and notes in supported formats. Your release details have a purpose. Removing every possible tag is not the goal.

C2PA also supports ways of associating credentials with content outside an embedded block, including fingerprinting and watermark-based bindings. Removing embedded metadata is therefore not a universal guarantee against later provenance identification. This is a capability of the standard, not a claim that Suno uses every mechanism. C2PA explains durable credentials.

From generated mix to a considered release

  1. Keep the source. Work from your best available export and retain it with your project records.
  2. Scan the track locally. Read the loudness, true peak and dynamics measurements before choosing a mastering direction.
  3. Make the mastering pass. Use Smart Auto’s measured choices or shape the result with manual controls. Then listen with level-matched A/B.
  4. Review the release details. Premium writes metadata to WAV, FLAC and Opus. Our current MP3 and AAC exports do not write those release fields.
  5. Save the new master. The free workflow also creates a fresh export. Credential checking is separate from our audio measurements.

The practical benefit is a repeatable finishing process: measured audio, an untouched original and a new deliverable. For a fuller walkthrough, read how I master a Suno song before release.

Included with Premium: mastering, metadata cleanup and release details

Premium brings the finishing work into one place: full mastering controls, automatic cleanup of source C2PA blocks and generator tags when you export, and your own release metadata in supported formats. Work on a single song or prepare a batch, compare the sound, then choose the delivery formats you need.

For a Suno creator, that means a clear handoff from the generated mix to your finished release file. You control the mastering and the release fields that our formats support. The source stays untouched, and the entire process runs on your device.

Before you export

Does mastering make the song non-AI?

No. Mastering changes the sound and creates a new file; it does not change which tools you used to make the music. Describe your process accurately wherever you share it.

Does PolishMyTrack certify that there are no Suno Credentials?

No. Our current metadata reader looks for ordinary text tags. It is not a C2PA signature validator. We describe what our export code writes and omits; we do not present that as an independent check of your finished file.

Do I need Premium for a fresh export?

No. Free mastering already exports a new file without copying the source’s credential blocks. Premium adds mastering controls, release metadata, batch work and more delivery formats.

What was verified: This article was checked against PolishMyTrack’s metadata reader, tag writer and export pipeline on 8 September 2026. The export behavior is supported by code review and existing tag tests. We have not submitted a real Suno file and its master for an end-to-end C2PA comparison. No audio was uploaded for this article.
